Hello! It is another blogmas post and it is time for another Top 5 Tuesday. Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm, but now it is hosted by Meeghan at Meeghan Reads. This is very likely my last top 5 Tuesday of 2022! This weeks topic is 5 books I meant to read in 2022, and considering 2022 was my worst reading year, potentially ever… there are a lot of books that could make this list!
At the start of the year, I shared my reading goals for 2022, and I had two lists of books that I wanted to read this year. I only read one from the first list, and I am not sure if that one even counts, because I had the whole series on the list and I have only read the first book which was Cinder by Marissa Meyer. From the second list, I also only read one which was The Shelf by Helly Acton, which funnily enough, when I picked it up in February, I felt like it was quite an impulsive pick, but apparently I’d had it on my mind just a month before. If you want to see the lists in full, be sure to go back to the original post (Reading Goals for 2022) to check it out! For today though, I am going to be choosing some different books that I wanted to read, but didn’t get to.
The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake
I would be lying to you and myself, if I told you that I did not buy this book only because it had pretty sprayed edges. It is such a pretty gold and black and honestly just amazing. Luckily, I do actually like the sound of it too and people on TikTok seem to love it too. I am actually hoping to read this by the end of this year still. I always want to read fantasy novels in December. It is something about the cosy lights and Christmas decorations that make me want to curl up and read a fantasy novel. Fingers crossed I can still get to it, but with the way this year has gone… I can’t bank on it.
Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim
I am actually really gutted I didn’t get to this one this year. This is a fantasy novel that I really find interesting and everything I read about it seems so intriguing. I never got to it though! I even have the sequel now, so hopefully when I do eventually get round to it, I can just binge read the series and it will be a great time. Maybe like The Atlas Six, I might get to it by the end of the year? But I don’t know if that is hoping for a little bit too much.
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
I bought The Love Hypothesis purely because of all of the hype I was seeing about it on TikTok. I feel like I have seen so many people love this book. I am so confident that I will love this, that I actually own all of Ali Hazelwood’s books and have preordered the ones coming out next year. I haven’t read a single one, so I really need to fix that next year.
Beach Read by Emily Henry
After reading You and Me on Vacation last year, I really wanted to read Beach Read and Emily Henry’s 2022 release, Book Lovers. Unfortunately, it did not happen! I save these books for the summer, so at least this just means that I will have more Emily Henry books to read next year.
Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune
I got this one on a whim last year in the Boxing Day sales from Waterstones. It sounded really interesting and I recognised the author’s name from their other novel with is really hyped (The House in the Cerulean Sea). I had planned to read it at the beginning of the year, but unfortunately never got round to it! I feel like it is more of an October, spooky kind of read, so maybe I will save it from next October!
Let me know what books you were supposed to read this year, but never got round to!

I read Book Lovers this year, and I loved it so much, I’m so envious that you get to read it for the first time! I hope you love these when you do read them.
