2022 Releases I Wish I Read

Hello! This time last year, I had big plans in regards to my reading. This meant that I preordered a bunch of books. I track my reading, and part of that is noting down the publication year of the books that I have read. This year the books that I read range from 2001 to 2022. I read more books from 2022 than any other publication year. Whilst I still read a number of 2022 releases, I still had 2022 releases that I wanted to get to. All of the books I am going to discuss today, I have on my shelves, and I really, really want to read them and I am hoping that in the new year, I will be able to get to these ones.

Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I really was planning on reading this one this year! I was actually waiting for this one to arrive, and decided to read Daisy Jones & the Six whilst I waited for it to arrive. However, by the time that it came, I was already back in my reading slump. I really love Taylor Jenkins Reid and it has such a timeless feeling to it. I consider her novels more spring time and summer time novels, so I think I will probably get to this one in the spring time!

The Setup by Lizzy Dent

I read The Summer Job last year in June and I really enjoyed it! It automatically put Lizzy Dent on my auto-buy list and I was really excited to get to The Setup this year. Again, I would consider this novel a spring or summer novel and when I came to read it, it was past the time frame for me. Part of the frustration I have with myself and reading is that I am such a season dependent mood reader that sometimes it makes getting to anticipated releases quite frustrating.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

Emily Henry’s novels are always hyped and this one was no exception. I feel like I saw this one everywhere. I just never got round to it! It is going to be one of the first ones I pick up next year in the summer period. Along with her first adult romance novel Beach Read which I think I mentioned last Tuesday when I discussed backlog books that I wish I got to.

Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn

Bloodmarked is the highly anticipated sequel to Legendborn which I read last September and absolutely loved! My plan for January-March is to catch up on some fantasy novels and I really want to reread Legendborn and then dive straight into Bloodmarked. I love binge reading series and I cannot wait to dive back into this world.

Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes

I have always been intrigued with Medusa, but never dived deep into her story. Stone Blind is a take on Medusa’s story and sounds absolutely riveting. It is so intriguing and I have gravitated towards this story so many times. My only issue is that I feel like I have to be in a good headspace and also one where I am wanting to read. I feel like I am now comfortably out of my reading slump, albeit still reading at a slower pace than what I am used to, but I feel like Stone Blind might be either the last book I read this year or the first book I read in 2023. I really want to get to it soon!

That is all today! So many 2022 releases that I wish I had read, and even more that weren’t on this list. Let me know many 2022 releases did you get to this year?
