Hello! Welcome to blogmas day 1!!!!!
I can’t quite believe that it is this time of year again. I feel like it was only just yesterday that I was trying to get all of the blogmas posts for last year sorted. I have so many exciting things planned for this month. I have been slacking on blogging this entire year, but I love doing blogmas, so I had to come back. Hopefully this will kick start me back into getting more organised with blogging.
Today I wanted to talk about all of the Christmas/festive books that are on my TBR. There are so many Christmas books published in 2022 and I cannot wait to read them. I feel like I can only read these types of books this time of year, so there are so many to cram in! I have some left over from last year, so let’s get into this long, long list of festive books!
A Merry Little Meet Cute by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone
A Merry Little Meet Cute was actually my first Christmas book purchase of the year! I did not read the synopsis before buying… I loved the cover, it caught my eye and that was that. I am now reading the synopsis specifically: “an adult film star who is semi-accidentally cast as a lead in a family-friendly Christmas movie, and the former bad-boy pop star she falls in love with.” I have absolutely no idea what I will walk into but I am intrigued.
All I Want for Christmas by Maggie Knox
After reading, The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox last year, I have been craving another Christmas book by the author. I loved their writing style and I am so excited to read another book by them! I don’t know too much about the novel, I just knew I had to have it, but it seems like it is a sort of music reality show with fake dating. I read a book earlier on in the year about a reality show (The Shelf by Helly Acton) and I really enjoyed that, so I am really hoping I enjoy that aspect of the novel here too!
Just Like Magic by Sarah Hoyle
To me, this novel kind of sounds like a retelling of It’s a Wonderful Life which is one of the greatest Christmas films of all time. It sounds whimsical, hopeless and hopeful all mixed up. I think it will be a cute Christmas book to really get me in the mood for Christmas! I also feel like it is the kind of book that will leave my soul satisfied and questioning what is really important in life.
A Cat Café Christmas by Codi Gary
When I saw ‘cat café’ and ‘Christmas’ on the cover of this book, I was sold. I’ve read a few romances where the plot is set around a cafe (like The Meeting Point) or just books centered around food like Tweet Cute by Emma Lord, or even The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox. For some reason, I think it provides the perfect setting, so I am really looking forward to fiving into this on. Plus, the cover is also absolutely adorable and that is one thing I love!
So, This is Christmas by Tracy Andreen
This is one that I bought last year, and never got round to! It is a young adult novel which I don’t know too much about! All I really know is that the main character has come back from boarding school and finds her best friend dating her ex-boyfriend and her parents have separated. It sounds like a chaotic start to the Christmas season and I am sure it will be a whirlwind of a story!
The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss
This is another one that I am carrying over from last year! I just love the sound of this one. It is described as a hilarious and uplifting holiday read and I honestly want nothing more out of a Christmas novel! Oddly enough, this one also seems to be set around a café and baking! It is definitely a popular theme.
The Christmas Murder Game by Alexandra Benedict
This one was inspired by my goal from my post about getting out of a reading slump which was to try and read a book that is out of my comfort zone and from a genre that I do not typically read. This book is a mystery and thriller type book, and it just sounds very interesting, so it is one that I definitely want to give it a go!
The Christmas Clash by Suzanne Perk
Another one based around food! This one kind of reminds me more of Tweet Cute by Emma Lord, because this is about the two main characters who have rival food restaurants. This one is set in a mall and one restaurant serves Korean food and the other serves Chinese food. It sounds like it is going to be such a cute enemies-to-lovers book and I think this is going to be one of the first books that I pick up this season!
Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison
I do not go into many book knowing everything about them. I like to be surprised. But even I might be pushing it with this one. This is set on a Christmas tree farm, and I love the song by Taylor Swift: Christmas Tree Farm. This book reminds me of that and that is the reason I want to read it. I will not lie to you and say otherwise.
The Holiday Switch by Tif Marcelo
There is always something so intriguing by something being switched. In this case, it is a phone that gets switched between the two main characters. This is another young adult novel and it is set in the last year of high school. It sounds so cosy and fun and like it will be a quick read to get to this year!
The Matzah Ball by Jean Meltzer
This is another one that I have had my eye on since last year. It is about a Jewish main character who has a shameful secret… she loves Christmas. She has a secret career as a Christmas romance novelist and that alone is intriguing. However, her publisher is now insisting on a Hanukkah romance novel being published, and the writer is scrambling for an idea. It sounds amazing and I really, really want to get to this one this year!
Will I get to all of these books this year? Highly unlikely! But all of these are definitely catching my eye, and if I don’t get to them this year, there is always next year!
