I know we are at the end of June, but I still haven’t talked about what I read in April and May… well April. I know I have titled this as April and May, but the truth is I didn’t read anything in May. In fact I didn’t read anything between 10th April and 15th June. Life got a bit on top of me for a minute there and I had to sideline reading. I am back on it though and tomorrow I will have my June Wrap Up posted too! For now, lets focus on the books I read in April.
Every Heart a Doorway, Down Among the Sticks and Bones & Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire
I reread the first three books in the Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire so that I could continue with the series, which I have yet to do. I actually forgot that I had done this, so hopefully I can continue with the next book in the series soon.
A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown
Considering I didn’t do a wrap up for April, I have spoken about this book a lot. I loved it – I think I went into more detail for the Easter Readathon 2021 wrap up. It is one of my favourite books so far this year, I was surprised by just how much I loved it. I am probably going to reread it again later this year in time for the sequel to come out!
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
The TV show coming out on Netflix definitely pushed me into finally reading the first instalment in the series. I enjoyed this a lot more than I though I would. Everyone always talks about how Six of Crows is the better series, but so far I prefer Shadow and Bone! Right before I went into a reading slump, I got about half way through the second book. I remember enjoying it, but I got too caught up in life to really get through it, so I need to go back and restart that one!
So that is my April wrap up two months late! Five books in 10 days is still a good amount of books! In the first few months I was reading 10+ books every month. I have definitely slowed down, but I am still enjoying the books I am reading at the moment! I can’t wait to talk about the couple of books I have read in June – the post will be up tomorrow!
Does the Wayward Children series get better after the first book in your opinion?

Much better! I didn’t like the first one when I first read it, but I really love the second book!

While I enjoyed both the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Sox of Crows duopoly I preferred the trilogy.
