Hello! Today I am taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. This weeks topic is books on my Winter 2021 TBR. However, I recently talked about all of the Christmas-y books on my TBR, so I thought I would do this a little different and have this be a list of ten books that I want to read between December and February 2022.
Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim
I have spoken quite a bit about how this one was a cover buy for me, but I do want to read it. And lately, I have been seeing so much about it and I can’t stop thinking about it so I think it is finally time for me to pick this one up!
All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace
I got this one when I was first drafting my mermaid story back in April, but never ended up picking it up. It is one that I have been thinking about a lot, so I really want to read this one. This time of year is the time that I like to read fantasy books, so I think it is a perfect time for me to read the series.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
Another book that I think is perfect for this time of year. I don’t really know why but it is just one that I want to read whilst the Christmas lights are up, so I am hoping to get to this one very soon!
My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows
As well as fantasy, I like reading historical fiction this time of year too, and from my understanding this is quite a humorous historical fiction one which I think will be quite nice balance in between all of the fantasy novels!
Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge by Lisa Jensen
I also really want to read retellings, so I thought now would be the perfect time to read some retellings. I got this one last year when I was really in the mood for some Beauty and the Beast retellings, but never got round to it. Hopefully I will get to this one soon!
Sherwood by Meagan Spooner
Speaking of Beauty and the Beast retellings, I read Hunted last year and loved it, and ever since I have been wanting to read Sherwood by Meagan Spooner. Sherwood is a Robin Hood retelling, I believe and I just can’t wait to read it. I am hoping that I will love it as much as I loved Hunted.
For the Wolf by Hannah Whitton
And staying on the themes of retellings, I believe For the Wolf is a Little Red Riding Hood retelling, although I could be completely wrong about this. For the Wolf was one of my most anticipated for the year, and I’ve owned a copy since it was released, but I have just never gotten round to it. Again, this is one that I kind of feel like I need to read with the Christmas lights on – I don’t know why.
A Psalm of Storms and Silence by Roseanne A. Brown
I read the first book in the series (A Song of Wraiths and Ruin) earlier on this year in April as part of the Easter Readathon and I loved it so much. I can’t wait to continue the series. I will probably reread the first one just so that I can get the full affect and impact of the series. I’m so excited.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
I want to reread Caraval so that I can continue the series with Legendary and Finale. And then – I can finally move onto Stephanie Garber’s newest novel Once Upon a Broken Heart. I am so far behind on Stephanie Garber’s work but I really want to continue it soon. I have asked for Finale for Christmas, so I will soon have all of these books on my shelves which just means I will have no more excuses!
We Free the Stars by Hafsah Faizal
And lastly: We Free the Stars by Hafsah Faizal. I am currently reading We Hunt the Flame which is the first book in the Sands of Arawiya series and I am loving it so much. I hope to be finished with that one soon so I can move onto the second book!
I have so many more books that I could have put on this list. I am terrible at sticking to a TBR, but I really do hope that I can get to all of these books in the upcoming months!
Let me know what books you want to get to this winter!
I’m super curious about Six Crimson Cranes as well.
