Festive Christmas Book Tag

I found the link and idea for this book tag on Comfort Reads Book Blog but the original tag was created by GirlReading over on YouTube. This is my first Christmas themed book tag, and I’m excited to dive in and answer the questions!

A fictional family you would like to spend Christmas dinner with?

I try (and most fail) to not mention The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare in every tag, but come one; I have to pick them for this question. Though not all of the six main characters are biologically related, they are definitely a family and one that I would want to spend Christmas dinner with.

A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?

If it isn’t a book then I feel like you can’t go wrong with a bookmark! I love them, I have so many but surprisingly not too many really nice ones; so I’d be happy with just a bookmark!

A fictional character you think would make a perfect Christmas elf?

My New Crush Gave to Me by Shani Petroff

In all honesty, I keep coming back to this question and staring at it. I am trying to think of any character ever right now and coming up with only ones I have already mentioned! Yikes. Okay. Christmas elf. I am going to go for J.D. from My New Crush Gave to Me by Shani Petroff (review coming Monday) – he is a character who loves giving out the perfect Christmas gift, so I feel like that would make a great Christmas elf.

Match a book to it’s perfect Christmas song.

I feel like everyone is going to pick All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey, but I am drawing a blank on all other Christmas songs – I think I would give this song to the Heartstopper graphic novel series by Alice Oseman.

Bah Humbug. A book or fictional character you’ve been disappointed in and should be put on the naughty list?

Tamlin from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas. He shouldn’t ever be allowed off of the naughty list.

A book or a fictional character you think deserves more love and appreciation and deserve to be put on the nice list?

Okay I have had a blank for this one. I suddenly can’t think of any character that is underappreciated?

Red, Gold and Green. A book cover that has a wonderfully Christmasy feel to it.

This one is actually one a bought a few weeks ago! This edition of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is so beautiful. I’ve read the story a few times, but I’ve always had to borrow a copy or I’ve had a horribly damamged one, so this year I decided I was going to get my own copy and I am so glad that I got this one. It is so beautiful.

A book or series you love so much, you want everyone to find under their Christmas tree this year so they can read it and love it too?

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I read this for the first time earlier on this year and I loved it! I also got it last year for Christmas, so I think other people should also find it under their tree!

This tag was so much harder than I was expecting! My mind blanked for so many of the questions – I hope you guys do a much better job than me.

Neat Christmas questions! As I read, I tried to think of answers, too, and I must say, I had trouble coming up with things, as well. I’m not sure what Christmas family I’d want to be with, but I know the town. It’s Evergreen, from Hallmark’s Christmas in Evergreen series.

I hadn’t looked at it from the perspective of where you’d want to spend Christmas, that’s really interesting!

Welcome to my cosy corner of the internet dedicated to anything book-ish related. I am an avid reader, who is constantly battling a reading slump. On here, I share my chaotic, rambling thoughts of all of the books I have read and want to read, offering my unsolicited thoughts. Occasionally, I will share my own work whether that is my poetry or progress updates as I write my own Fantasy novels.
