End of the Year Book Tag

I’ve seen this tag on first on Hailey in Bookland’s youtube channel and then I have also seen it multiple blogs and I thought it was about time that I did it. Plus, it makes the perfect book tag to do, now that we are ending 2020.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

So many! I am terrible for starting books and then getting distracted and forgetting about them. Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and The Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare and Wesley Chu are probably the two main ones that I was really looking forward to but then never got round to finishing.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

I guess I kind of used Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks as a transition this year. I recently reread Pumpkinheads because I wasn’t ready to let the halloween/autumnal season go. My next read after Pumpkinheads was My New Crush Gave to Me by Shani Petroff which is a Christmas book (review is coming in December); so I guess you could say it was a transitional read for me.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

I have actually been pretty awful with new releases in 2020 – something I am already making myself better for 2021 – but I do have my eye on Admission by Julie Buxbaum which comes out 1st December. I highly doubt I will get to this though.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

I really want to finish In the Time we Lost by Carrie Hope Fletcher before the end of the year. Then I want to read Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe by Melissa de la Cruz and Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. Can you tell I want festive reads right now?

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I think In the Time we Lost by Carrie Hope Fletcher still has potential to become a favourite of mine; but any of the books I plan on reading could surprise me.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2021?

I have! I am currently prepping for Blogmas/posts for the new year and I am compiling a list of my most anticipated reads. I have also started reading a few 2021 releases on NetGalley and I have just received an arc Love is a Revolution by Renée Watson, so I am really excited for the new year!

Have you guys started planning for 2021? And what books do you want to read before the end of the year? Let me know!

Well, in the middle of A Christmas Treasury right now. Think I will be able to finish this book of classic short stories and short poems

After that, haven’t quite decided what the next book is- that really depends on when I finish A Christmas Treasury. All I know is that I want 2021 with Chronicles of Narnia.

I read all of them- I mainly know only the ones that were made into films. Time for a reread

Welcome to my cosy corner of the internet dedicated to anything book-ish related. I am an avid reader, who is constantly battling a reading slump. On here, I share my chaotic, rambling thoughts of all of the books I have read and want to read, offering my unsolicited thoughts. Occasionally, I will share my own work whether that is my poetry or progress updates as I write my own Fantasy novels.
