Hello! Today I am going to talk about the books I read in October! I had a good reading month, but not as good as I had hoped. I didn’t finish a book until halfway through the month, and I just wasn’t able to get through as many books as I had initially hoped. That being said, it was still a successful month, with some good books read, so lets get into it!

The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore by Laurie Gilmore
I read The Pumpkin Spice Cafe in September, so naturally I have continued the series. I didn’t enjoy The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore as much as the first one. I also wasn’t expecting this one to be a summer book, so it did feel very strange reading it whilst getting ready for Halloween. It was still a fun, quick read though.
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
I read Twilight for the first time ever this year! I got the book years and years ago, but they were stolen by my little sister and I never got a chance to read them. I loved the films growing up, but just never felt the itch to read them. This year though, I was wanting to read some trashy, YA, 2000s fantasy books and my friend suggested that we all read Twilight. I am hoping to get a discussion post up soon about this one, but I did really enjoy it!
The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse by Erin Sterling
A little yearly tradition for me is reading The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse by Erin Sterling and I absolutely love them! They’re always such a fun read and I love them more and more with every reread. The last instalment in the series The Wedding Witch has just come out and I can’t wait to read it. It’s set around Christmas I believe, so I will be including this as part of the Bookmas posts/Christmas reads!

The Guest List by Lucy Foley
I had to read this one for my book club & it was definitely a book that is outside of my comfort zone. I struggle with reading any sort of thrillers or mysteries, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one! It was just enough suspense that kept me interested, but not nearly enough to trigger an anxiety response. I have already been looking into reading more of Lucy Foley’s books!

At the end of October, this brings my total books for the year to 74 books! It is my best reading year in years. I have a goal of reading 100 books though, so I need to read 26 books in the next two months in order to reach my goal. I have a bunch of books that I want to read (and a bunch of short ones too to help me along) so I am hopeful that I will be able to reach this goal!
