The Joy of Christmas Book Tag

It’s time for another Christmas book tag! I found the link and idea for this book tag on Comfort Reads Book Blog but the original tag was created by Sam’s Nonsense over on YouTube.

Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?

There are so, so many! The obvious ones being A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas, Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare, Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas, Malice by Heather Walter and With This Kiss by Carrie Hope Fletcher. I’m going to have a post going up soon about my most anticipated books – though there is a ridiculous amount of books on that list!

Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it’s praises?

Most recently… probably Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. It was unlike any book that I have ever read before and I think it’s something that everybody should read!

Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?

No description available.

I’ve just finished reading Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and despite not reading the Shadow and Bone series, the building of the world was phenomenal. I’m reading Crooked Kingdom now and I’ve just ordered her other books in the Grisha world.

A Christmas Carol: Favorite classic or one that you want to read?

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll is one of my favourite classics and I really want to reread it soon! I also really want to The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. I have the MinaLima version of the classic and really want to read it!

Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas?

I feel like I have answered this question a lot lately! I have so many books on my wish list right now so I’ll choose Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo as I am loving her Six of Crows series right now.

Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?

No description available.

I recently finished Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan and that definitely gives me warm fuzzy feelings! It’s such a light hearted read, perfect for the Christmas season.

Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favorite book covers?

No description available.

I’ve just done a post about my favourite 2020 covers which you can check out here. I am a sucker for a beautiful cover and have so many favourite ones. I will choose Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire for this one though, because I do not talk about it enough!

Christmas Joy: What are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories?

No description available.

I love Christmas. My house gets thoroughly decorated for Christmas, so it’s hard not to enjoy it! I also always find myself reading a lot around Christmas. Something about being surrounded by loads of twinkling Christmas lights promotes cosy vibes in me and makes me want to be reading constantly.

Can’t wait to start next year’s reading. There are only eight books I am hoping to see- Harry Potter and A Little Princess. Surprisingly, I asked for a kindle this year.

Honestly- don’t know any single release that will come out next year. Usually don’t know ahead of time

I’m Kira

Welcome to my cosy corner of the internet dedicated to anything book-ish related. I am an avid reader, who is constantly battling a reading slump. On here, I share my chaotic, rambling thoughts of all of the books I have read and want to read, offering my unsolicited thoughts. Occasionally, I will share my own work whether that is my poetry or progress updates as I write my own Fantasy novels.
