February Wrap Up

February, I started blogging again and it feels really good to be back. I’ve been more inspired lately about blogging and about writing and I’m really excited about the upcoming months! Today, I’m going to be talking about the books that I read last month.

Validate Me by Charly Cox

2020-02-28 12.11.20The first book I read was Validate Me by Charly Cox, an ‘honest, raw and insightful’ collection of poetry and prose. Her writing is an authentic description of what it is like living in the social media age and how it affects relationships, concentration span and mental health. As goodreads says:

Written entirely on her phone, this is a look at how a life lived online is both liberating and screwing us all up, through the gaze of one woman on the cusp of absolute digital burnout. Funny, heartbreaking and achingly relatable, Charly’s writing has the power to make us all feel less alone.

I love Charly Cox, I have read her first collection ‘She Must Be Mad‘ so many times and I am already feeling  need for a reread of Validate Me soon.

Break Your Glass Slippers by Amanda Lovelace

I was provided with an arc of this poetry collection via Netgalley – the collection comes out on the 17th March 2020. Check out my review here!

Heartstopper Volume Three by Alice Oseman

2020-02-29 10.01.24I loved this book – it is the third installment to come out in print and I really enjoyed continuing with Nick and Charlie’s story. In this installment they went to Paris on a school trip, and it made me so envious that I never went to Paris on a school trip. I will have a review going up of this and the other two installments going up soon!

I also read a couple rereads this month:

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

2020-02-25 14.46.21I have started my reread of The Infernal Devices series in preperation for 3rd March when the first installment of The Last Hours: Chain of Gold comes out! I loved it as always, though this time round it took me longer to make my way through it, but I think that was because I have been busy. I’m currently reading the second one, Clockwork Prince, and I am loving it just as much.

Heartstopper Volume One by Alice Oseman

2020-02-29 10.00.58

I am planning on reviewing all three of the Heartstopper installments currently out. In preperation of the upcoming review, I wanted to reread Volume One and Two so that I could remind myself of the earlier story.

What books did you read in February?

My February reading failed horribly and I was only able to finish one book 😩 it was the Scavenge the Stars by Tara Sims.

Thanks for that 😊. The book was amazeballs… seriously! I am actually going to do a review on it, and will be posting it sometime this week.

I honestly didn’t read much in February. I’m going to do better in March.

Welcome to my cosy corner of the internet dedicated to anything book-ish related. I am an avid reader, who is constantly battling a reading slump. On here, I share my chaotic, rambling thoughts of all of the books I have read and want to read, offering my unsolicited thoughts. Occasionally, I will share my own work whether that is my poetry or progress updates as I write my own Fantasy novels.
