We are quickly approaching the end of the year and I am not yet at my reading goal of 100 books! I am close, and doing way better with my reading goal than I have the last couple of years which is amazing, however, I still need to read a few more books. There are so many books that I have got this year, that I am itching to read, so lets talk about some that I would like to read before the end of 2024!
Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
Before the Coffee Gets Cold is high up on my TBR list. I see this book everywhere and I finally got a copy a couple of months ago, so I have no more excuses to not be reading this book. I believe it is a cosy fantasy mystery, but honestly I don’t know too much about it other than loads of people love it!
The Concierge by Abby Corson
I recently downloaded this one onto my Kindle after seeing two Instagram stories in a row about this book – I’m very easily influenced. I don’t know a lot about the book, but know its a mystery thriller, and after recently finishing The Guest List by Lucy Foley, I am kind of in the mood for more mystery novels.
A House with Good Bones by T. Kingfisher
I recently read What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher and I really enjoyed it, and soon after finishing it, I took a trip to 66 Books and manage to get a copy of A House with Good Bones. I feel like this will be a good one to close out Spooky Season with, before getting full stuck into the Christmas reads.
A Dark and Drowning Tide by Allison Saft
I don’t know too much about this book other than it is a sapphic fantasy mystery, and Waterstones released the most beautiful exclusive edition for this book. I think its one of my favourite covers and sprayed edges that I’ve got this year! I’ve heard a lot of great things about this one, so I feel like it would be a good one to close out the year with.
Lady Macbeth by Ava Reid
I am actually not a huge Shakespeare fan. I didn’t really study much of his work at school, and I certainly did not retain any of it. However, I am always intrigued by the retellings inspired by his work. Ava Reid’s books have been catching my eye for a while now, and I really want to read one of her books by the end of the year, and I have a copy of Lady Macbeth, so it seems a great place to start!
These are just a few of them, but there are so many more books that I could choose!
