Hello! Today I am back with another wrap up post. At least this time its still within a reasonable time frame (unlike the April / May Wrap Up post). I did not realise I had read nine books until I was preparing to write up this post! I know I keep saying it, but I truly am having such a good reading year and its still surprising to me that I am out of my 2 and a half year reading slump.

Falling Hard for the Royal Guard by Megan Clawson
First up in June, I wanted to read a book that I had placed on the 20 Books of Summer Challenge! I started to read this one last year, but the slump took over before I could finish it and I just couldn’t get into it. This year though, I listened to the audiobook whilst I was painting and I absolutely flew through it. It had me giggling, cringing and unfortunately relating to some of the embarrassing moments. I also loved the setting of it being within the Tower of London and it was just such a fun book.
The Friendzone by Abby Jimenez
Continuing on from May, I carried on reading Abby Jimenez’ backlog. I read all of her books within just three weeks. I adored this series just as much as Part of Your World, although I feel like you could definitely tell her writing is getting stronger the more she publishes. I think out of this series, my favourite was The Happy Ever After Playlist!
The Girl on the 88 Bus by Freya Sampson
The Girl on the 88 Bus was a pick for the book club that I have with my friends. It is such a heart-warming book about a woman and a carer helping an elderly man find the woman he met on the bus years and years ago, so he can thank her. It was such a wonderful read, and lovely light story to read.
The Black Death: New Lessons from Recent Research and Medieval Myths & Mysteries by Dorsey Armstrong
After reading quite a few romance books in a row, I wanted to read some non-fiction to prevent me heading into a bit of a slump. For some reason I really wanted to read about a grand historic event: The Great Fire of London and I got about 30 seconds into looking for a book, and ended up finding one on The Black Death instead that took my interest. It was an audiobook narrated by Dorsey Armstrong and I actually really, really enjoyed it! It was very interesting. After the Black Death one, I decided to read her one of her books about the medieval period in general, and again I had a lot of fun!
Save the Cat! Writes a Novel by Jessica Brody and The Emotional Craft of Fiction by Donald Maass
In June, I started replotting and restructuring the Rapunzel project that I have been working on now since 2021. So, I read two books in order to help me in that process. I found it so unbelievably beneficial and I cannot wait to read more craft books on writing to see what else it can inspire.
