Almost Favourite Books of 2022

Hello! Welcome back to another day of blogmas!

Today I wanted to talk about my almost favourite books of the year! Earlier on in blogmas, I discussed my three worst books of 2022. I am still torn between my top 3 books of the year, so I thought I would talk about my almost favourites of the year! These are the three books that I absolutely loved, but they are not quite my favourites!

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I have slowly been making my way through Taylor Jenkins Reid’s backlog of books. The latest one that I read was Daisy Jones & the Six and I devoured it when I read it back in June of this year. I really, really enjoyed it. It is written in an interview format and it is so easy to flow through the pages and get truly lost in the story and the characters. I am somebody who heavily relies on good characters in order to be able to enjoy a book, and this book made it very easy to get connected with the characters. It was a great spring-time/summer read and I highly recommend. It is completely worth the hype.

White Smoke by Tiffany D. Jackson

White Smoke was a little bit of a gamble read for me! I was just coming off of a reading slump, and I thought about trying out a new genre in order to shake me out of my slump. It did the trick really well and was definitely the start of me getting out of my slump! It is a young adult psychological thriller that was so immersive. I had to stop reading late at night with only like 50 pages left because it was so creepy. It is definitely one you will hear me talking a lot about next year around October time!

Midnight in Everwood by M.A. Kuzniar

Midnight in Everwood is the most recent read! It was such a beautiful and mystical read. I loved being swept into a wild world of sugar drops and poisonous people. It was truly remarkable with wonderful friendships and an adorable romance. I loved the setting most of all. The winter wonderland that was so dangerous yet still so intriguing. I loved reading about the revolution and the secrecy surrounding it. It was whimsical and I can definitely see myself reading this again next Christmas.
