Bookish Naughty List Tag

Hello! Welcome back to day twelve of blogmas and this is actually my 300th post! It is kind of wild to think that this little blog of mine has 300 posts and people are still reading. Today to celebrate, I thought I would do another book tag. I love book tags, and I feel like the Christmas versions of these book tags are always great. I thought I would do the Bookish Naughty List Tag that was created Jenniely!

Received an ARC and not reviewed it

Yes! I received an ARC for Silver in the Mist by Emily Victoria not too long ago, and I haven’t been able to get round to it yet! It is a young adult fantasy that is focused around spies and it sounds amazing, so really looking forward to eventually getting to this one.

Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley

Oh yes! I honestly haven’t looked at my Netgalley in months – maybe not even this year. I really fell off the Netgalley wagon, and it is one of my goals in 2023 to get back onto it.

Rated a book on GoodReads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)

Not on GoodReads… however, on my blog in my September Wrap Up, I did promise a review would be coming soon for Angelika Frankenstein Makes Her Match by Sally Thorne, but I never got round to writing it!

Folded down the page of a book

Absolutely never. I do not dog ear my books!

Accidentially spilled on a book

To be honest, I haven’t read many physical books this year, so I suppose I have not really had much opportunity to spill on the books.

DNF a book this year

So many… I started so many books this year, but just never finished them. Whether they count as a DNF because I got distracted, left it too long that I cannot remember anything and would need to start again. But I am counting them, because I did not finish these books.

Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it

I love a cover. I have bought so many books because of their covers, although I always have the intention of reading them. The last cover buy that I got was A Merry Little Meet Cute and I did read that one so all was good!

Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)

I have definitely used reading as an excuse not to do the dishes or something like that, but to be honest, putting on an audiobook normally encourages me to deep clean the entire house.

Skim read a book

I have never been good at skim reading. It was a skill that I wished I had during my school and uni days, but I have just never been good at it.

Completely missed your Goodreads goal

My original one – yes! I originally set out to read 100 books, however I lowered this and my new goal is 30 books! I am currently at 24.5 so hopefully I can get to 30.

Borrowed a book and not returned it

I have not borrowed any books this year! I don’t tend to borrow books, if I am being completely honest!

Broke a book buying ban

I know that I would never stick to a book buying ban, so I have never placed myself on one. My bank account would definitely like me to though.

Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about

Yes!!!! I was going through my drafts and I found half written reviews from January and February that I know could never finish because I do not remember enough in order to be able to write a good review.

Wrote in a book you were reading

Absolutely never! Although I did use sticky tabs in House of Earth and Blood when I did my reread in February. But that is the most I will ever ‘write’ in my book!

Finished a book and not added it to your GoodReads

No! I need all of the books that I could possibly get on my GoodReads!

This tag was so much fun! I feel like I am definitely on the Bookish Naughty List this year! How would you do?
