Hello! I know in yesterdays post I said that I would be having my post about all of the book series that I started in 2021 go up, however that has been delayed! I haven’t been able to get this post sorted out yet. I have had a hectic Christmas week at work and haven’t had a moment to breathe. I was planning on getting a post up on my break today, but things just changed, which is why this post is going up so late today! I wanted to spend a little longer on my post about the series, so I will have that go up tomorrow! And because it is so late today, I thought I would do another quick book tag and this one I found on Read With Amie. Let’s get into it.
1. Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release are you most anticipating?
It is no secret that I am highly anticipating House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J Maas but I am actually also really excited about Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn which is the second book in Legendborn. There are so many books that I am excited about and I can’t wait to share them all soon!
2. Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it’s/their praises?
Beth O’Leary! I love her books so much! I don’t think I can praise her writing and her books even if I tried! Last year her novel The Flat Share was on my favourites list and this year The Road Trip is certainly making it onto favourites list! I would put The Switch on there too, but I don’t want to overwhelm the list with Beth O’Leary too much, but we will see!
3. Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?
Any book from the Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare. I don’t think you can argue how incredible the world building is after being able to build such an extensive series off of it! Every book builds on the world building and it feels so real sometimes. I love it.
4. A Christmas Carol: Favourite classic or one that you want to read?
One that I have really been wanting to read lately is Little Women by Louise May Alcott. I have always wanted to read it, but lately I have felt really drawn to reading it. Maybe it will be one that I will get to in 2022! Who knows what my reading year will be like!
5. Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas?
I did a whole post on this recently! But the likes of V.E Schwab and Elizabeth Acevedo and Holly Black made it onto the list!
6. Candles in the Window: What book gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling?
Recently it was The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox! Will I ever stop talking about how perfect of a Christmas book this book is? Probably not, let’s be honest.
7. Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favourite book covers?
Another post that I did recently! But one of the ones that didn’t make it onto the list that I regret was Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim. That book is so stunning!

8. Christmas Joy: What are some of your favourite things about Christmas and/or some favourite Christmas memories?
This year, I think my favourite memory is just going to be that I am going to take a big deep breath on Christmas day! I have basically been working the whole of December, so I can’t wait until I can just relax on Christmas day! But usually, my favourite thing about Christmas doesn’t actually happen on Christmas. It happens Boxing Day when my dad makes turkey pancakes. They are the best!
And that is it! I loved that tag, it was so fun! I am sorry again that this post is up so late, and that it wasn’t the post orginally planned for today, but hopefully that one will be up tomorrow!
Merry Christmas, Kira.
