Books I Hope Santa Brings

Today I am taking part in another Top Ten Tuesday this week. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. This weeks topic is books that I hope Santa brings! And this week is a little bit different, because I am sharing my Amazon Wishlist. I am always really nosy, so I can’t wait to blog hop later today and check out everyone’s wishlist and hopefully buy a couple of gifts for people!

It is just a little bit of fun, so please don’t feel obligated to gift me anything on the list, but if you did want to the link is: here.

A Twisted Tale

It is no secret that I love retellings and ever since this anthology series started, I have wanted to get my hands on it. There are currently twelve books in the series with three authors: Liz Braswell, Elizabeth Lim and Jen Calonita. I haven’t read anything by these authors, but I do have Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim and I am really looking forward to picking that one up.

Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo

I have had this one on my wishlist for so long now. I read The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo last year or maybe the year before, and I really enjoyed it! I have heard even more good things about Clap When You Land and Elizabeth Acevedo’s writing style. I am falling more and more behind with Acevedo’s work, but hopefully I will catch up in 2022!

A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair has been on my wishlist ever since February this year. I needed a book after reading A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas and this was one that caught my eye. Ultimately I ended up starting the From Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, but A Touch of Darkness has remained on my wishlist. It is a Hades and Persephone retelling which is also really intriguing to me. Also a bonus is that the cover is also beautiful.

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

I am finally intrigued by this series, and I have been for quite some time. Holly Black has always kind of been on my radar, but I have just never picked up any of her books. I think if I am going to dive into the world of Holly Black, The Folk of the Air series is probably the best place to start. I have heard a lot of good things about the series and Holly Black’s writing in general, so I do want to see what all the hype is about!

A Darker Shades of Magic by V.E. Schwab

Another one where I want to see what all of the hype is about is A Darker Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab. I have yet to read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue which is the only book that I currently own by Schwab, but I still want more of their books! I think that Schwab is such a prolific author who is adored by so many people, so I need to get a move on and read their books!

Jade Fire Gold by June CL Tan

Jade Fire Gold by June CL Tan is actually a debut novel, so I don’t know too much about the novel or the author just yet! However, the book sounds like an incredible fantasy about magic and reclaiming thrones and things that I love so much. So really excited to eventually get this one. Also let us appreciate the beauty of the cover. It is so bold and brilliant!

Skin of the Sea by Natasha Bowen

This one is another 2021 debut and another with a beautiful cover and an incredible sounding story. The book has not been out long, but already I have seen so many rave reviews. It is a story about the sea, mermaids and Gods and honestly what more could I hope for within a story.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

I think this book series has been on my wishlist the longest. It has been on my wishlist since before I even started blogging. It has been a long time. I have heard so many good things about this series specifically but also Laini Taylor’s writing style in general. I makes me so excited to eventually get to the series!

To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

I think what first made this book catch my eye is that I saw it everywhere on TikTok. But then when I first started writing my Mermaid project, I looked up books involving mermaids and this was one of them. Ever since it has lived on my wishlist and it is another one that I really hope to get to in 2022. It sounds so twisted and like everything I want!

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik

And to round off this list, I am going to pick a dark academia book that I feel like has been on my wishlist forever, but yet I never talk about it. I feel like this is adored by so many people and I have had so many people recommend it to me in real life, which is unusual for me because there aren’t many people in my life who are big readers. It makes me want to read it even more.

What books are on your wishlist? I can’t wait to read everyone else’s post later today!
