The F.R.I.E.N.D.S Book Tag

Hello! I’m sorry I have been away for couple of weeks, I took an unexpected blogging and writing break to focus on work and my mental health. I am back feeling a little better, and ready to get back with juggling blogging and working, and what a better post to come back with than the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Book Tag. I found this book tag from Roxanne Michelle @ An Average Life. I am a huge fan of the show, and it was one that I was watching way before I probably should have been watching it if I am quite honest, but I love it so much. It is such a comfort show for me and one that I quite often have on in the background whilst getting on with my daily activities.

Monica

A book based on a game or competition:

I mean, the first one that came to mind was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I have been wanting to reread this series lately, so I can read the prequel that came out last year, so it still seemed fitting that I pick this for the answer.

Organisation queen. How do you organise your books?

Right now… they are a bit of a mess! But, usually they are organised in rainbow! I currently have two rainbows, one for the books I have read and one for the books on my TBR. However I haven’t updated the rainbows since June or July, so lots of books to fit into the shelves now.

Rachel

A Book you read for the hype:

So many… I think most recently it would be The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling because I saw so much about that book right before I read it and I did only read it because I was seeing it everywhere.

Shopping addict. What makes you buy a book?

Cover…hype…the plot…mostly the cover if I am being honest.

Ross

A science fiction book:

I don’t really read science fiction… I don’t even remember what the last science fiction book I read was.

On a break. Which books have you put down to pick back up later?

Far too many. I have been in such a reading slump lately that I keep picking up books and then putting them back down. I think the one I am most eager to return to is Ariadne by Jennifer Saint.

Chandler

A book that made you laugh out loud:

You and Me on Vacation by Emily Henry had me feeling every emotion, including laughing out loud!

That time at Space Mountain. Are there any books you’re embarrassed to admit you’ve read?

I don’t think so. I don’t really think anybody should be embarrassed by what they read. I also don’t believe in guilty pleasures – nothing should be laced in guilt and people should be free to enjoy whatever they want without being judged.

Joey

A scary book you’d keep in the freezer:

If there’s anything that we learned about my posts, like Halloween Book Tag, in October is that I don’t really read scary books.

V is fo Encyclopaedia. As an adult, have you read any books with words you had to look up to understand?

For sure! I am constantly looking up words in books. If I don’t recognise a word or can’t quite recall the meaning, I just do a quick google.

Phoebe

A book with a spiritual or supernatural theme:

All of the fantasy book I read. I am currently rereading the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead, so I will put that for this question!

The boycott. Are there any authors, booksellers or publishers you refuse to support?

I have spoken openly about one particular author (read here if you want to, because I have refused to mention them by name again on my blog), other than that one, I think there have been a few but I can’t think of any by name right now.

Janice

A book with an Oh My God twist:

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout is one that had a great twist! I still need to read the third book and I think that there might even be a fourth book now. I’m not sure.

Emily

A British classic:

I don’t read many classics, but we are coming up to Christmas, so of course I am going to go with A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

Gunther

A book nobody seems to be talking about:

I honestly have no idea what to put for this one. I feel like this year I have made an effort to read books that people are talking about.

Carol and Susan

An LGBTQ+ book or author:

Cemetery Boys by Aidan Thomas – I am currently half way through this book and I am really loving it.

Eddie

A book or character with intense/stalker vibes:

You by Caroine Kepnes is one that is on my TBR!

Mike

A slow burning book or romance novel:

The Switch by Beth O’Leary is definitely one that is a slow burn romance, and it is such a good book!

Richard

A book that left you feeling accomplished or better educated:

The Hormone Diaries by Hannah Witton! It was so educational, and I am wanting to reread it soon.

This was such a fun tag, and now I am going to go and rewatch Friends!

Thank-you for staying with me whilst I took a little break and am slowly coming back into things and getting back on track. I have some really exciting posts coming up, as well as Blogmas next month!

I can’t recommend Beth O’Leary’s books enough tbh. I still need to read Beach Read – I loved Emily Henry’s writing style so much in You and Me on Vacation!
