The TBR Tag

Hello! Today I have another tag for you. This one I found this tag over on Way Too Fantasy, and as someone with far too many books on her TBR, I thought this would be the perfect tag to do. As you might know, in September/October, I was in a reading slump, but that did not stop me from buying books and adding to my TBR, so let’s get into this one.

How do you keep track on your TBR list?

I never used to have a method, other than me just knowing which ones I have read and which ones I haven’t. I still don’t really track it in the way that I am not actively trying to reduce it (I really should be) but I currently have my bookshelves in rainbow order, but in two rainbows. The top rainbow are the books that I have read, and the bottom one are the ones that I haven’t read yet. This is a little bit of a pain, because whenever I read a book and need to put it in place on my bookshelf, I need to rearrange the whole thing.

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

Print! I don’t have many ebooks. Really, the only ebooks that I do have are the ones I get from Netgalley and I don’t have many of those.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

Mood. 100% mood. I have never been able to follow a monthly TBR or plan in anyway, that is the easiest way for me to go into a reading slump. So, I will just pick up whatever I am gravitating towards.

Name a book that you recently added to your TBR list.

I am constantly adding books to my TBR! However, I am expecting my copy of Midnight in Everwood by M.A. Kuzniar which I am really excited about. This one is my most anticipated book for the remainder of the year.

Is there a book that’s on your TBR list strictly because of its beautiful cover?

Hahaha – almost all of them. To name one, The Winter Garden by Alexandra Bell. I haven’t heard too much about that one, but the cover is so stunning.

Is there a book on your TBR that you never plan on actually reading?

I wouldn’t say never, but it has been on my TBR for so long, and I never think about it unless I look at my book shelves and that is Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I’d love to eventually get to it, but it isn’t one that I actively think about getting off of my TBR.

Name an unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for.

So many!!

  • House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J Maas
  • Book Lovers by Emily Henry
  • With This Kiss by Carrie Hope Fletcher
  • Bloodmarked by Tracey Deonn
  • Love, Locked Down by Beth Reekles
  • The No-Show by Beth O’Leary
  • When You Get the Chance by Emma Lord
  • Belladonna by Adalyn Grace

and probably so many more!!

Is there a book on your TBR that basically everyone has read but you?

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong – I can’t believe I still haven’t managed to read this one yet!

Is there a book on your TBR that everyone recommends you read?

Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid is one that I get great feedback on every time I mention this book.

A book on your TBR you’re very excited to read.

So many!! I have been thinking a lot about For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten and I am really excited for that one. I hopefully will get to that one soon.

The number of books on your TBR shelf.

I don’t want to count now, but the last time I did it was in the 200s. Awful, I know!

That was a really fun tag, even if it was just me exposing myself and having far too many books on my TBR! Once again, I am not tagging anyone, but please let me know if you decide to take part! I would love to see your answers.

  1. I get anxiety when I have too many books on my TBR, so I try to limit my physical TBR to just one shelf! So far it’s been working relatively well. Having a full shelf means I always have options to fit my mood reading ways, but I don’t have too many books on there that would make me feel overwhelmed!
