Checking in on Book Series Unfinished on my Shelves

Hello! Recently, I revisited an old post: Checking in on Books That Have Been on my TBR for Too Long. Today I thought that I would do another post where I check in on another post, and that is Book Series Unfinished on my Shelves. I originally did this post in two parts, but today I will combine the two. So if you wanted to read the older posts you can check out Part One: here; and Part Two: here. 

Caraval by Stephanie Garber 

Starting this off with one that I definitely have not finished yet. I haven’t even bought the last book yet! I really do need to get to it soon though, because I really want to read Stephanie Garber’s spin off series which is coming out later this year – in September maybe? I remember loving the first book, but I will definitely need to reread the first book before continuing the series because I do not remember a thing. 

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas 

I have actually finished this one now! I read the majority of the books in January of this year, and then finished the series in February. I had such a good time reading these books! I documented about half of the series, but got a bit too caught up in the reading to continue writing out the posts, but the ones I did write, you can check out: here. It is quite funny looking back at the original post and seeing how much I did not like this series and I actually unhauled my copies not long after publishing the post. But now I love the series and will probably reread it!

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke 

I still have not started this series. At this point I am not sure if I ever will. I have had these books forever, and I think at this point I am just holding on to them in the hope that I will read them because I loved the film so much as a kid.

The Wayward Children by Seanan McGuire 

So I am not caught up on this series, however I am definitely further along than I was when I wrote the original post. I wasn’t liking the series and it took me a few tries to actually read the first book, but I hadn’t yet moved on to the second book. I have now read the second and third books in the series and as I am writing this, I am wanting to start the fourth! I believe there are six of these books out now, so I still have some catching up to do.

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

I did not realise this book series would be on this list, but if you wanted to see my thoughts about the series and the author please read my post where I expressed my thoughts – here. This is the last time I will mention this series on my blog.

Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst 

I still not have continued the series. Writing his out has actually reminded me that I need to look into the series again. When I read the novel in 2016, it was still a standalone, but I know there is definitely a prequel out and I believe there is a book 2 now too.

Spindle Fire by Lexi Hillyer

We all know how much I love retellings, so it is really surprising that I still have not gotten to this one. I don’t think I have even finished book one yet, but what I did read of it I remember enjoying. I think I was reading it at a time I was getting stressed about university, so had to put it down because of that and not the content of the book. Excited to return to this one. 

Flame in the Mist by Renée Ahdieh

And lastly, we have Flame in the Mist I recently spoke about this one on my last check in. I really want to read it, but I am really struggling to read physical books recently. I would prefer an audiobook but I cannot find one anywhere. I will try again with this one soon and hopefully I can keep my focus. Just to reiterate – it has nothing to do with the book, it is just my brain not focusing.

So, not as much progress made on this one compared to the last check in post I did! But still, there has been a little progress. I am still excited about most of the books on this list and I think I am getting back into a fantasy mood, so maybe some more of these will be read soon!
