New Releases Book Tag

Hello! In my last post, Mid-Year Reading Stats, I talked quite a bit about new releases, so I thought now would be the perfect opportunity to do the new releases book tag! I saw this first on AaurishiReads and it was originally created by Ellyn @ AllonsyThornraxxBooks. Lets just jump straight in.

A New Release You’ve Already Read

I’ve actually read quite a good amount of new releases so far this year! The latest one that I read was The Summer Job by Lizzy Dent which I read right at the end of June! I also read The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary and Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid last month, and if you wanted to read more on my thoughts about these books you can check out my June Wrap Up: here.

A New Release That’s Already Come Out but You Haven’t Read Yet

While I have been doing quite well with new releases, I still have so many on my shelf that have been preorders that I just haven’t gotten to yet! Some include:

  • For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten
  • The Wolf and the Woodsman by Ava Reid
  • Wings of Ebony by J. Elle
  • One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
  • Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart
  • The Yearbook by Holly Bourne
  • Love is a Revolution by Renée Watson
  • Malice by Heather Walter
  • Rise to the Sun by Leah Johnson
  • Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare
  • Ariadne by Jennifer Saint
  • Roman and Jewel by Dana L. Davis
  • Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas
  • Heartstopper Volume 4 by Alice Oseman
  • All the Tides of Fate by Adalyn Grace
  • Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

There’s probably some more but I think this list is enough to make me pick up another new release soon.

A New Release That You’ve Just Found Out About

I don’t really know one that I have just heard about. I guess the latest one I found out about was Ariadne by Jennifer Saint. I found out about that one just as it was being released and as soon as I saw it in stores, I bought it.

A New Release You’re Excited About From One of Your Favourite Author

I still need to read the latest instalment in The Last Hours series by Cassandra Clare. Chain of Iron came out in March, but I am yet to get to it.

A New Release You’re Excited About From a New-to-You Author

Malice by Heather Walter is one of my most anticipated books of the year. I can’t wait to read it, although I am holding off reading it until I am in the mood again for fantasy – I am currently in a contemporary mood because of the summer.

A New Release You Have No Interest in

Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff – I actually have no interest in any of his books. I know he is a well loved author and this book is highly anticipated, but it just isn’t for me.

A New Release You Want to Pick Up Soon

I think the next one that I want to get to is Heartstopper Volume 4 by Alice Oseman – I am currently rereading the first volume to remind me of the story so far. I am also reading Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert, so after I read that I will likely move on to Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert which came out earlier this year.

A New Release That Hasn’t Come Out Yet But You Can’t Wait to Read

The first one that came to mind was Gilded by Marissa Meyer! I can’t wait to read this Rumpelstiltskin retelling and to dive into another standalone retelling from Meyer.

A New Release with an Amazing Cover

So many! I love the cover of Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid and also Ariadne by Jennifer Saint.

Your Favourite New Release That You’ve Read so Far

I am choosing both A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas and The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary. They are my favourites for different reasons. A Court of Silver Flames is the latest instalment to one of my favourite series and this book explored more serious topics and the execution meant a lot to me. The Road Trip was completely different, a contemporary romance compared to a fantasy novel, and I devoured it in one sitting.

This makes me even more excited to get to more new releases this year – although that list of the new releases on my shelf right now made me a little nervous!
